StartupAfricaRoadtrip - Vol. 3: Startup scouting, bootcamp and competition in Uganda
Summer 2019 will see the team engaged in Uganda in order to do scouting for business ideas, training and activation of local connections with the italian ecosystem.
The objective of the initiative is to support startuppers, innovators, makers and young talents who intend to develop products or services with high potential impact on the local economy.
The selected participants will attend a 5-days Bootcamp session at Makerere Innovation Center (http://miichub.com/) in Kampala. The session will allow participants to benefit from extensive training to refine their business plans and craft presentations.
The bootcamp week is made up of 5 "vertical" workshops alternated with practical and mentoring sessions to provide useful tools for acquiring transversal skills in developing business activities and being able to effectively present to investors.

The last day of the bootcamp, the participants will pitch during the demo-day to a panel of local stakeholders, investors, tech experts and industry representatives, who will award 3 startups with a personalized mentoring program with industry experts and coaches and the possibility to experience an immersive week in the italian ecosystem.

StartupAfricaRoadtrip arose in 2017 from the initiative of young Italian social and digital entrepreneurs.
The goal of our initiative is to support and drive cutting edge social innovation in developing countries, creating opportunities for entrepreneurial and startups ecosystem to grow locally and globally and contribute to generate self-sustaining virtuous circles:
Equipping local entrepreneurs with the necessary skills and tools to execute their ventures and creating the right condition for local talents to prosper in the long run;
Nourish local entrepreneurial ideas to bridge the knowledge gap in high potential ecosystem throughout a structured learning process and generate opportunities encouraging entrepreneurial spirit to flourish;
Bridging the gap between local and international stakeholders focusing on high impact initiatives.
Since 2017 we've trained and helped more than 50 local startups through 6 workshops and competition initiatives, mapped and connected more than 30 hubs and reached more than 700k people through our social media channels.
