  • About the event

Lords of the Underground Society shortened as L.O.T.U.S, is an opportunity for communal progress through music and community based art. In this spirit it seeks to capture the intimate and ever-changing trends of art by curating a collaborative event. At first this movement will be focalized into a 3-weekend show thrown at a local indoor skate park. It will encompass the last 3 Fridays of February (2/9, 2/16, 2/23). Dead Phone Dummiez and their spreadthewxrd campaign are tapping into an international group of 16+ artists including major A-list names such as Audiopush, and Ugly Frank that will perform on these 3 special nights. After these 3 shows in February, all artists apart of this pilot event will create a compilation project. As L.O.T.U.S evolves, so will the presentation, prestige, and people involved in creating what this can and will become. This benchmark event has received support from sponsors such as, weouthere magazine, 1990X blog, indii design, eleven studios, lixr productions, didikai collective and lagunitas. Sponsorships that are actively being sought after include vacasa, and active skateboarding. Every aspect of creating this brand will be documented in immaculate 4k videos to serve as promotion for future endeavors. L.O.T.U.S is more than a show, it is more than a mixtape or a group. It is quite simply put, something new. Stay tuned, the music scene is about to experience a renaissance, will you be apart of it?

    Why should you sponsor?

    • Music is a fundamental part of being a millennial.

    • “According to “the UK Music Experience and Behavior in Young People”, music was the most popular entertainment form for 14-24 year-olds in 2009 compared with other cultural products.”

    • Not only that but another point made in Yifan Xu’s thesis “Globalization of Millennials Music Consumption”, is that “Out of the 44 completed surveys gathered from the Ohio State University undergraduate students, 15 claimed strong preferences of Rock and Alternative music” while he then disseminates varying musical preferences of those who preferred the alternative genre “By comparing their corresponding rating of other music genres, there is a high probability that they like Rock, and Hip Hop”.

    • This data suggests that millennials value music and its influences very highly compared to any other cultural product and that they have a strong inclination towards alternative and hip hop genres.

    • Millennials also have a huge economic impact upon the market. We have categorized millennials as those aging 17-34.

    • These people have a spending power of $200 billion with an expected $10 trillion over their lifetime.

    • Combining the huge spending power of millennials with their affiliation to music leads to the conclusion that this cultural product is the way to their hearts and spending habits.

Businesses large and small are struggling to capture this huge market share of consumers. Most think that a social media page is enough to engage with this sector of the economy, however, this isn’t enough to capture brand loyalty. Events are a huge way of engaging with this generation. By throwing the right party, a business can capture and engage with millennials in a far more effective and visceral way than ever before. Why is it so important to engage with this demographic both online and in person? Well if you can successfully do both you will gain their loyalty. 70% of millennials report having high brand loyalty. This is huge as once you have a millennial, their lifetime spending power will more likely be directed towards your business. As stated above, this isn’t something to be disregarded. 84% of Millennials also report their decisions being highly influenced by a stranger rather than a close friend. Meaning throwing the right event and providing a safe and fun arena will be enough to set the stage to capturing these fierce and loyal consumers. Millennials also appreciate the ability to share their experiences. Travel companies are experiencing a 20% growth in millennial travel spending habits by simply providing a platform to share. Events are perfect opportunities to capture this concept. A fun and unforgettable night engaging with your products and business will surely encourage sharing, and the possibility to capture not only those present at an event but those within the social circles of these attendees. By sponsoring our event you will be a part of an unforgettable experience that will surely boost your social status within this dynamic and loyal demographic.

    To summarize:

    • Millennials are highly influenced by music as more than 70% report listening to music as a large part of their day.

    • This means music is an excellent means for capturing this sector of consumers.

    • It is important to capture these consumers as their combined spending power is expected to be $200 billion for the year of 2017.

    • Once captured 70% will remain loyal. Thus by becoming a part of our event you will be at the cutting edge of influencing millennial consumer habits.

All acts/performers associated with this event have a combined following of 500,000. This is an impressive reach and is more authentic as your access would be much like having a good friend recommend a service/product. This authentic marketing approach proves to be successful time and time again. As you will see below, it is very easy to get involved with this event.

    Alastair Graham

We are Dead Phone Dummiez, a hip hop group based out of Portland Oregon. We through music seek to influence those around us to produce a new wave of creation. We are a 5 member group that started in early 2014. We all started out with a hope and a dream and have worked over the course of 8+ years to come together and produce the best music we possibly can. Last year we succesfully threw our first debut event. We organized a 400 person show at the Hawthorne Theater in Portland Oregon. Rob $tone was our headliner with his hit song at the time "Chill Bill" taking charts by storm. With a little creativity, some money, and a bit of magic we put together a kick ass event that had people wondering where we had come from and why we hadnt done something like this sooner. So in this spirit we are coming together once again to create a lasting movement called Lords of the Underground Society, or L.O.T.U.S. We hope to see you there!
