About the event

We are four students from University of Greenwich who are part of the Events Management course. As a part of our course we are required to put up a fundraising event and raise as much funds as we can to donate to the charity we choose.
Our chosen charity is Target Ovarian Cancer. They are the national ovarian cancer charity that is working on saving lives and helping women diagnosed live their lives to the full. There are a few ways the charity does this such as: finding new treatments, improving early diagnosis, providing support to women via publications and programme of events that are all available free of charge.

Thus our aim is to raise awareness of the disease and to remind young women of the consequences they might face if they do not look after themselves and go through regular check ups. This is the main reason why we are targeting students and young women as well as elderly women.

The event idea we have came up with is a thrilling and moving music and dance show that aims to showcase the talents of a variety performers. It is a chance to bring the local community together with people who have the love for music and dance while raising awareness and funds for the Target Ovarian Cancer charity as well as showcasing known talent and welcoming new performers to the stage.

We are still looking for the perfect venue as we believe that is important to find the most suitable venue for the purpose of our event in order to deliver the message the right way, on the right time to the right people.
As March is Ovarian Cancer Awareness month the best time to hold an event with such purposes will be then. The date that we have picked for the charity show is Wednesday the 4th of March 19:00-22:30 with the intentions that everybody who is willing to stay longer is more than welcome to do so. As Wednesday is the middle day of the working week we believe that is the perfect day for some entertaining time that will easily help our attendees to take their minds off work for a while and to also be given the energy that the performers will spatter.
