About the event

Limerence is a contemporary fashion exhibition which will be showcasing the creative works of students graduating from the Australian Institute of Creative Design. The exhibition will bring whimsical charm to Light Space, which is an urban styled venue located at the edge of Fortitude Valley. The walk through will feature, not only pieces from each of the Advanced Diploma in Fashion and Textiles Merchandising students, but a pre-show ensemble where the Diploma of Screen and Media students will get a chance to display their own skills under the theme of Urban Romance. The student’s vision for is to welcome industry professionals across all areas at an event where they can present their hard work from the past year through their fashion designs. Students anticipate this evening as one where they can welcome a host of VIPS, family and friends to celebrate art, design and romance on a night off from the trials and tribulations of modern living.

In a world where romance is tired, not prioritised and worst of all, mostly digitised.

From emoji’s to friend requests and swipe rights, our expectations of romance gets further and further away from a true reflection of thoughtful effort. This addiction of instant gratification has left us with a lust-less epidemic. We are the gesture deficient, fast forward generation, dizzy from the virtual merry-go-round.

So, let’s slow it down. If only for one night let us wine and dine you.

Vines weave seductively around fixtures, the foundations are rocked by weeds but the wooden frames are standing strong. This industrial site whispers a reflection of modern day romance while the finer details tell a softer story. Champagne at the bar, flowers cascading from the tabletops and the scent of chocolatey delights hits you as you step into the setting, kissed with candle light and enveloped in stylish generosity.

Why should you sponsor?

We are Fashion Business Students at the Australian Institute of Creative Design. As apart of our final assignment, we are to design a mini collection and the showcase these designs at a Fashion Show organised by the graduating students. As we are to pay for this by ourselves, we are looking for sponsors who might want to help us out by donating either money or anything to contribute towards the show. We are doing a non for profit show, therefore any leftover funds will be split in half and given to two charities which include CanTeen Australia and The Pink Pony Fund.
