Leja Bulela Annual Conference & Fundraising Gala,

About the event

Each year, we hold our annual conference in a different city as a means of engaging with our global membership base.  This year, our annual conference will take place June 29, 2018 – July 1, 2018 in Wichita, KS (at Wichita State University). It is my pleasure to formally invite you to take part in our annual conference. We would love for you to participate as a corporate sponsor or purchase an ad in our program booklet, and if possible, attend the conference.

Our speakers include: Cindy Miles, Executive Director of Nonprofit Chamber of Commerce; Brandon Johnson, Wichita City Council, District I; and John Sharp, Professor at Hesston College.  Mr. Sharp is also the father of Michael Sharp. Michael Sharp was the UN Expert that was murdered in Kasai last year while investigating mass graves. He will speak about continuing Michael's work.

We are expecting at least 200 people at our conference and of those 200 many have additional reach through their social, business, and personal networks.

Kayowa Kasongo

My name is Kayowa Kasongo and I have been involved with Leja Bulela since its inception in 1993. I am part of the executive committee for this organization and am also leading the coordination of our annual conference.

There is a crisis in Congo and our confrerence serves to raise money for those in the Congo, especially those in the Kasai region who are currently going through a tribal genocide. Recently, an American UN Expert -- Michael Sharp -- was killed while investigating mass graves in the Kasai region of Congo.

I would really like to help the organization anyway I can by raising as much money as possible for our clinic and all of our other initiatives.
