Mayola Delgado, Director of Community Empowerment & Communications at Univision Los Angeles.
Mayola is responsible for developing and implementing community outreach programs to raise awareness and cultivate opportunities that support Univision's corporate empowerment platforms. She leads Univision Los Angeles’ community empowerment efforts by working closely with community leaders, political figures, nonprofit organizations and the wider business community to ensure Univision’s two television stations and four radio stations are engaged with the local Hispanic community.
Mayola has 20 years of experience in various aspects of television and radio media, including promotions, marketing, talent management and employee engagement. Prior to her current role, she served as director of promotions and public relations for NBCU’s two Los Angeles Spanish- language television stations. Previously, she was marketing director for Del Rey Marketing in Los Angeles where she managed local grass-roots and marketing campaigns for some of the largest packaged-goods products including P&G, Colgate-Palmolive and Unilever. Delgado initiated her career in media at KMEX-TV Univision 34 as an intern in the public relations department; soon she earned a full-time employment opportunity as public relations coordinator and was later promoted to public relations manager.
In 2013 she was honored with an Emmy Award for her role as Associate Producer in the Los Angeles Mayoral Debate “Alcaldia 2013”. Delgado earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, as well as a Minor in English Writing from Cal State University, Northridge.
