Kolla Festival,

About the event

We are a young non-profit called 'Grénge Kolla Konsum a.s.b.l.' organizing
the Kolla Festival, a platform bringing together local food, artists,
musicians and associations to raise awareness on the concept of
collaborative consumption. The idea is to show people alternatives to their
excessive and wasteful consumption.

To do this, we contacted various people; artists, associations and
musicians from the whole Grand Duchy. On the one hand, the festival
consists in concerts and an art exhibition of principally newcomers and
unknown artists, in order to give them a chance to show their talents to
the public. On the other hand, ourselves focused on serving local food and
beverages, to show people that there are also local possibilities (for
example, we didn't serve any cocktail containing exotic juices, but instead
proposed 'Hugo', made of elderberry syrup, crémant and fresh peppermint.)
Next to this, people could visit our market, displaying various local
products, associations and workshops. These included informative stands
such as CePT, Transition Minett or Beki among others, but also various
craftspeople showing the visitors for instance how to upcycle, how to use
natural herbs, as well as a swapping area.

Even though we had reduced financial means, the first edition last summer
was a huge success with approximatively 1500 people over the three days.
This is why we want to repeat the experience this summer, but in order to
do this, we are looking for sponsors. Being a relatively new association,
we are quite unknown in Luxembourg and it is rather hard for us to find
bigger sponsors.
