Hi! I'm Rikka & my enthusiasm for children and their well being is routed in my studies of paediatric nursing at KCL! This has driven me to sign up to the Aids Orphan Charity challenge event to climb the world's highest free standing mountain, Mt Kilimanjaro situated in Tanzania!During a previous visit to Tanzania on a charity basis, climbing Mt Meru sparked a desire to climb Kilimanjaro. And what better reason to do it that to support this AMAZING CHARITY!Aids Orphan provides children orphaned by AIDS with access to education, meals, & practical help in medication taking as well as vital psychological counseling.
As a group of students we will be participating in and organizing a variety of fundraising events in order to raise money for this charity. We will be embarking up the Machame Route of Kilimanjaro, which is know for its difficulty due to it's long and steep routes. It will be an incredible journey, however it will be both emotionally and physically draining and challenging.
