About the event
The 16th annual Kidsports Invitational is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) 3-on-3 basketball tournament that will be held at University of Oregon's Matthew Knight Arena on April 12 for 5th-8th grade boys and girls. The Kidsports Invitational, expecting an estimated attendance of 1,800 this year, is put on in a collaboration between University of Oregon's Warsaw Sports Marketing Center and Emerald Kidsports. The annual tournament will be an event consisting of 80 teams, roughly 400 players, that costs only $15 for a team of up to 5 to register providing a unique opportunity for kids to play at Matthew Knight Arena regardless of their financial background. Besides registered players, the event is attended by parents, relatives, siblings, University of Oregon students, the UO Men's Basketball team, the UO Women's Basketball team, and UO Cheerleaders. Proceeds benefit the Stephen Dember Memorial Scholarship Fund, as well as the KIDSPORTS Emerald Scholarship Fund.
Other activities will be held throughout the day including a skills challenge, shooting challenge, dunk contest, skills clinic by UO student athletes, and other sponsor let activities. The goal is to create a life changing event filled with unique opportunities that is accessible to all regardless of financial restrictions. Emerald Kidsports teaches children and families the value of physical fitness, sportsmanship, practice, and teamwork through sports and activities. The event provides the foundation needed to become successful members of our community.

- Founded by Emerald Kidsports to promote a healthy and fun atmosphere for kids of all ages.
- Provides an opportunity for the children in the Eugene/Springfield community to participate in sports regardless of financial restrictions.
+ Stephen Dember Memorial Scholarship Fund
- Founded in 2005 in memory of Stephen Dember, a member of the Warsaw Sports Business Club who passed away while abroad.
