About the event
Our villagers are the pillars from which we as a country grow strength from. This holds one as majority of our Indian population, nearly 70% according to the current census, reside in villages. We have about 6,40,000 villages and nearly 83.3 crore people, all of which easily outweighs our urban population.
Yet, 300 million have no access to electricity, 63 million with no clean drinking water and around 60.4% with no proper sanitation facilities, all of whom belong to our rural population. These are the basic amenities every person in our country should have a right to. When we can't provide these basic facilities for them, then we can only imagine their access to education and health care. If we as a country have to grow, then we need to strengthen our foundation pillars.
In our cities, the operation for sustainable development has been in terms of enhancing resource utilisation efficiency, but for our rural front, green agenda should be able to make available all resources and facilities required for a good living.
In the above context, AgriTech Advisory Board – Indian Technology Congress Association with the support of New Horizon College of Engineering proposes to organize the Karnataka Smart Village Hackathon with the support of Government of Karnataka and IEEE.

Through the event is we are looking to empower our villages with more than the basic amenities. Strengthen the roots to build try country is our motto.
The sponsorors would get to use their CSR funds wisely which will be used for implimenting the ideas which come out of the hackathon and the confernece.
