About the event

I’m reaching out on behalf of Done For DiDi Inc. and DiDi Delgado. DiDi is a Radical Visionary and Philanthropist, Award-Winning Author and Poet and a Passionate Advocate and Activist for Black women, non-men and MaGes (Marginalized Genders). Done For DiDi Inc., founded by Delgado, is a 501c3 not for profit community organization that combines art with activism to build an antiracist community and educate white folks on racism and all the other "isms" while garnering support for Black MaGes from those people with privilege.

We’re excited to share about our Juneteenth Slam - Happening in Boston at Nubian Gallery on Saturday, June 18th at 7:30 PM. DiDi has curated and hosted multiple poetry slam events throughout their career, but we’re hoping to make this slam the best one yet.

DiDi Delgado and team have given over half a million dollars in reparations money to Black women and MaGes in the last 5 years, and this current project will continue to support Black joy and healing.

We are seeking support from local businesses to help us raise awareness and funds for this revolutionary event. The slam will showcase 8 poets, with cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. We want to create a night to remember, and need you to show up for Black Artists now, and invest in Black futures.

#DoneForDiDi was born out of providing amplification to the necessary, valid stories of cash poor Black women and non-men.  Many experts that are credentialed in poverty are far removed from living within the narrative of poverty.  We assert that persons experiencing poverty are the best experts. Don’t know where you land on the privilege meter? No worries, #DoneForDiDi is a battle cry for action, now.
