About the event
This concert series is presented and hosted by national keyboard recording artist and radio personality BRIAN CLAY. Brian was a sought after player in the Atlanta Jazz scene where he grew up and lived for more than 20 years. He also worked as a radio air-personality on Smooth Jazz 107.5 WJZZ for more than 10 years.
Brian relocated to Knoxville, Tennessee in 2010 and established his presence on the Knoxville airwaves, hosting a weekly jazz program called "Jazzspirations."
As an extension of his radio show, Brian created a monthly live music performance series called Jazzspirations LIVE. Brian performs and uses the relationships he has developed through music and radio over the years to invite top regional and national jazz artists to join him on stage for DYNAMIC and ENTERTAINING performances.
Jazzspirations LIVE is entering it's 3rd year of existence with a history of outgrowing venues and selling out shows. Featured artists range from marquee headliners to incredibly talented up and comers. The 2015 artist lineup included Ryan Kilgore (touring saxophonist for Stevie Wonder), Jeff Kashiwa (smooth jazz chart topper), Matt Marshak (NY based lead guitarist for smooth jazz ensemble Four80East) and Grammy award winning artist Kirk Whalum.
Jazzspirations LIVE happens on the second Saturday of every month, January through August, and takes place at Knoxville's home for Live Jazz, The Red Piano Lounge.
