About the event
Rose Hill Manor Parks and Museums will be exhibiting the original artwork of children's author Jan Brett. The Manor House will contain hands on play spaces and historical exhibits to go along with this artwork. Sponsors are needed to help fund the shipping costs and supply costs to go along with this exhibit. The exhibit is being shipped specially from Wisconsin to Frederick Maryland.
As a sponsor your name and or company logo will be displayed in the lobby of the museum and in press releases. We are also expecting a guest visit from Jan Brett herself in the winter and sponsors will be included in the advertising for this event as well.
The museum will hold special tours featuring the Jan Brett exhibit and historical elements related to it for school groups as well as the general public. Exhibits will include, Jan Brett's Noah's Ark and the Noah's Ark stories from Ancient Civilizations. Cinderella and the versions of her story throughout history will be featured with Brett's Cinders. The parlor of the Manor will focus on the concept of home and how we identify home along with Jan Brett's story Daisy Comes Home.
Many of Brett's stories have been used as teaching stories for our Baby Signs classes and these classes will be even more exciting with the original artwork hanging on the walls all around the children.
Other programming includes school art contests, gingerbread building contests, and wool dying programs.
Not only will this exhibit be featured in the museum from September to December 2015, other programs at the Museum will bring audiences to explore the World of Jan Brett who may have never before read her books. These programs include our Fall Festival, preschool programs, homeschool classes, general tours, and our Museum Academy.
