ITSY LONDON FILM PREMIERE GALA,

About the event

Purpose: ITSY was commissioned by the Be Kind Movement (UK) to raise vital funds for women and children’s educational projects whilst reflecting the charity’s ethos of Kindness:

    ‘One Kind Act Can Change Someone's Life. Many Such Acts Can Create A Movement.’

What ITSY represents:

•A celebration of diversity within our community reflecting multi-cultural Britain;

•A narrative on loneliness, life in the city and mental health;

•A story of acceptance in a time of global turbulence and intolerance;

•Female representation through the lead protagonist, female directors and the heavy centric female crew, championing the female voice;

•Provided a practical working opportunity to a talented, young disadvantaged girl, Ruvimbo Munodawafa, who worked as a runner, and penned some beautiful poetry for ITSY which BKM are excited to showcase at the film’s London premiere in July 2019.

The objectives for the fund-raising for the Itsy London Film Gala Premiere:

•Raise funds to provide an educational grant to Ruvimbo Munodawafa, the formerly homeless young black disadvantaged girl, who worked as a runner on the sets of ITSY that Premila Puri is currently mentoring;

•Implement a pilot scheme in a London borough for secondary schools in Q1 2020 using ITSY as an educational toolkit to enhance the mental health and emotional well-being of pupils; roll out nationwide to primary & secondary schools in 2020, potentially collaborating with the Arts Council and NHS Trusts.

The Be Kind Movement has hosted previous fundraising events:

•Champagne Reception in Aid of The Girl Child, educational programme in India that raised a scholarship fund to sponsor the education of over 100 slum girls; 

•Saree Fund-Raising Fashion Event helped rehabilitate women afflicted by violence e.g. domestic abuse.

•Film Festival Awards and Official Selections have generated a buzz for the film which we will monetise for the charity via the UK Premier gala and ticketed screenings:

Film and TV Producer, Premila’s charity BKM commissioned ITSY to raise funds for educational projects for women and children. The film touches on a number of themes including Kindness. Premila’s production company, Ariana Ventures, produced the film pro-bono.
