The Canadian Hemochromatosis Society (CHS) is proudly hosting its third annual IRONS for IRON golf events in cities across the country this spring.
Hereditary hemochromatosis is a genetic, metabolic disorder that results in iron overload; the body absorbs and retains too much dietary iron. It is a primary disorder of iron metabolism that can affect many organ systems including the liver, pancreas, heart, endocrine glands and joints. It is potentially fatal, but easily treated if diagnosed early, before the excess iron causes irreversible damage.
IRONS for IRON is a fun day of golf with friends to help support CHS programs and build awareness of hereditary hemochromatosis, Canada’s most common genetic disorder. Players of all skill levels are invited to participate. Your registration fee covers greens fees, use of a cart, a meal, and door prizes. Early registration is encouraged as spots are limited.
