About the event

By turns thrilling and frustrating, optimistic and overwhelming, tedious and turbulent, the COP26 was as surreal as its predecessors. It was also, of course, a hugely important COP. It was the first summit that would address what has and hasn’t been achieved following 2015’s Paris Agreement, and to set new targets that would keep us on track for 1.5 degrees.  The biggest achievement was the creation of the Glasgow Climate Pact, a detailed document outlining political decisions that build towards a more ambitious climate response. This was an unexpected bonus, and an important one at that. But several months past COP26 the question still remains, Where do we Stand? and ofcourse one of the most one, "Was it actually the Last best Hope for Humanity to address Climate Change?” Well if you ask us, we would say NO it was not but it might very well be an alarm which reminds us that if we do not act fast, it for sure will be too late. The world today is at a very critical juncture. This pandemic has exposed how unequally the consequences of a global crisis are distributed, and we cannot afford the same thing to happen with the climate crisis.Addressing a Crisis this humongous, the world requires Ideas, Mobilisation & Actions; a lot of Actions.

Hence at this critical juncture, Raisina House in collaboration with the Royal Danish Embassy, New Delhi, Embassy of Ethiopia, New Delhi & The Embassy of Italy, New Delhi presents the India Climate Conclave 2022. The conclave is an aims to bring to the Climate Conversation table issues that requires immediate attention. India Climate Conclave takes place in the overarching context of the new normal since the Covid-19 pandemic, compelling the global community to radically rethink and transform our relationship with nature and with one another. In this India Climate Conclave, we will try to explore the role of various global partners in mutually realising the commitments made during the COP26 & examine how Climate Change will determine the behaviour of Nation states engaging with one another.

The world today is home to 1.8 billion young people between the ages of 10 to 24, the largest generation of youth in history. Young people are increasingly aware of the challenges and risks presented by the climate crisis and of the opportunity to achieve sustainable development brought by a solution to climate change. The India Climate Conclave is an attempt to amplify the Youth voices in Climate Policy. The conclave aims to make Climate Action Inclusive by bridging the existing gap between the Youth,Climate Policy Stakeholders & the Industry and promote Intergenerational cooperation for Climate Action. The Conclave will bring on the same platform, Political Stakeholders, Climate Experts from around the World side by side with the Dynamic Young Changemakers to discuss & deliberate upon some of the major issues that the Youth believe require immediate attention & attempt to address the issues to ensure effective & Inclusive Climate Action.

Taking place in New Delhi, the 2 day Hybrid conclave will address the most pressing issues through 20 mind thrilling Sessions. From understanding the Science, Politics & Economics of Climate Change, to setting a Pace for COP27, the discussions will walk through themes like Climate Finance, Green Mobility, Energy Security, Green Transition, Inclusive Representation & Youth Action.
