About the event
This Big Lebowski themed bowling fundraiser is being hosted to kick off Elevate Nepals, 2018 fundraising goal of rebuilding a 700 student primary school in the remote village of Sarsyu, Nepal. This school was destroyed in the 2015 earthquakes and has left hundreds of students displaced and without education. Those who are still going to school are crammed into tiny temporary classrooms or forced to walk 2-4 hours per day to continue their studies. Our goal is to begin construction on Sarsyu's new primary school in the fall of 2018. We hope to raise a minimum of $10,000 of the $80,000 needed to rebuild Sarsyu Primary School.
Why should you sponsor?
Sponsors will receive a large amount of advertising exposure during and after our event takes place. Starlite Lanes in Flagstaff has helped us build some great advertising packages to offer our sponsors in return for their support. With advertising last for 1-2 months after the event takes place you are guaranteeing yourself exposure to 10,000-20,000 potential customers in a concentrated family based demographic.
anthony manciniI am Anthony Mancini, a co-founder of Elevate Nepal. I first traveled to Nepal six years ago to work on farms and trek the himalayas. I became enamored with the country and the people who inhabit this region. While working on farms I was able to identify an area of need that seemed to be easily addressed if funding existed. Poverty is a widespread issue in Nepal, but can be combated through knowledge. As I was first attempting to create a cultural immersion tourism organization to fund my project ideas, the fateful earthquakes of 2015 hit Nepal. After that my business partner (Dan Maurer) and I shifted our focus and decided to help out where we were most needed. The rebuilding of infrastructure has been painfully slow, with many school children still displaced and families still living under tarp or tin temporary structures. At Elevate Nepal, we seek to give villagers a means to help themselves by providing financial support to purchase building materials. This in turn allows them to rebuild their homes and schools to earthquake proof standards while working to rebuild their country themselves. We help to provide sources of incomes and jobs to villagers through our projects as well. We have just hit our one year anniversary at Elevate Nepal and could not be happier about our achievements. In our first year we were able to raise enough money to facilitate the reconstruction of six homes for families in need. I could not be more excited to see what the future holds.
