WHAT IS HOUSTON’S GOT TALENT
City Wide community event to host over 300 attendees watching kids, teens, & adults compete for cash.
This event will have Celebrity Guest Judges including Nakia Dillard (seen on the hit TV show “The Wire”)
Special Appearance by Radio Host Amir Diamond of 97.9 The Box
This event will be televised on 5 Cable networks and aired 6 times.
Special Performances by many talents including a dance group as seen on Lifetime’s hit TV show
Red Carpet experience starts at 1pm an hour before the show includes pictures and interviews
Tickets include full course lunch, dessert, access to vendors, and raffles.

Goals of the Houston’s Got Talent 2016 Scholarship Luncheon is to bring awareness to the communities about YPBD’s entrepreneurship program while showcasing some of the city’s best talent while raising 10K in scholarships.
Motivate our communities to educate our youth and reach out about resources that exist.
Create a database of local organizations to support the needs of the communities that are affected by poverty due to lack of resources
Tara HarrisPhilanthropist and entrepreneur Tara Harris is the inspiration behind The Youth Personal & Business Development program.
Many admire her for being so committed to giving back to the youth and community. Her humble beginning and upbringing led her to move from Gary, IN which is a city with one of the highest crime rates and lowest per capita in the U.S.
As a result of being raised in such unfortunate circumstances, Tara Harris was forced to find her own way and resources. She taught herself how to become a successful entrepreneur which made her aware of the lack of resources at risk children have.
This experience has prepared her to start the 501c3 non profit YPBD with the goal of helping adolescents think and grow richly by building their character, encouraging entrepreneurship, and promoting community development to conquer poverty. This program provides sixteen weekly non traditional workshops teaching life skills such credit, finance, goal setting, and much more. The students receive healthy meals after every workshop along with fun outings.
