Coming off an incredibly successful year two in 2015 Holiday Hoopsgiving has quickly established itself as of the nations premier high school basketball showcase!
Hoopsgiving brings together the Peach State’s top male and female youth teams to compete against some of the nation’s best programs. The nation’s highest ranked players, regional rising stars in addition to local under-the-radar up-and-comers will all gather in Atlanta over the Thanksgiving weekend to compete against a collection of talent found nowhere else in the country. This year we will be featuring 30 top ranked high school teams showcasing at least 20 nationally ranked prospects found amongst the more than 320 tournament players. This event is a must attend for professional, college and high school basketball fans alike. And is a wonderful scouting opportunity for recruiters in and around the Atlanta area.
This year’s attendance is expected to be on average 2,500-3,000 attendees per day. Last year’s live and on-demand webcasts garnered 15,000 viewers and more than 900,000 impressions. Coverage was also provided by ESPN, Yahoo! Sports, Rivals.com, and numerous other high school and college basketball recruiting blogs. This year’s tournament will be covered by those who participated last year in addition to several new comers such as Maxpreps.com, SUVtv, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Fox Sports and 92.9 The Game.
Current sponsorship opportunities include on-site activation, event signage, tournament programs and other print materials, halftime and between game events, in-game announcements, tournament website presence, tournament social media mentions, tournament radio spots, and tournament webcast streams.
Play for Orange which was started to bring more awareness and support to children diagnosed with Leukemia. We then partnered with schools from all over and invited their talented athletes to attend and participate in our events which help us reach the goals we set each year. One of the main events under Play for Orange is a national high school Thanksgiving basketball tournament called Holiday Hoopsgiving. In Holiday Hoopsgiving’s first year, it was voted to the top 25 high school events and top 10 Thanksgiving events in the country according to CBS Sports. In its second year it drew even more attention as fans poured in each night to watch some of the nation’s highest ranked athletes compete.
Leukemia is the most common form of cancer found in children and teens. The monies raised are to be gifted to the direct patient care programs that help ease the financial, social, and emotional burdens of low income patients and their families within the Atlanta area.
Since proceeds from Holiday Hoopsgiving benefit Play for Orange all teams participating in the tournament, both players and coaching staff, are to collect donations in their respective hometowns. In addition to their fundraising all teams are to visit the Children’s Hospital of Atlanta over the tournament weekend bringing gifts and sharing their stories of achievement through sports with the young patients they will be visiting.
