About the event
The Helen Marie Witty "Wings of Change" Gala is a benefit to support the Helen Marie Witty Scholarship, a scholarship available to theatre students in the Miami area in honor of Helen Marie Witty, a Miami Palmetto Senior High School student who was struck down by a drunk driver in 2000. The scholarship goes to students who reflect Helen's passion for theatre, love of service, and academic enthusiasm. In 2001, the first Helen Marie Witty scholarship was given out, with countless going out since.
