  • About the event


    This year’s theme is based on reflection. The reflection of a surface or a body is the return of heat, light and sound without absorption. These are all the elements that one finds in a show in which, by playing with the sensations of the body, allow the public to live a reflective experience.

    There are infinite ways to interpret a reflection. Our visual environment is constantly flooded by tints, shades, halos, lights, and therefore our perception is persistently stimulated. It is this infinite diversity united in a single theme that we want to convey when the 33rd HEC Fashion Show will take place in March 2017.

    The exploitation of this theme will be essentially made around the use of mirrors, which are key objects to set our show. The use of mirrors for promotional images, but also in the parade and choreography will allow each viewer to interpret the show in his own distinctive way. Thus, the eye will be stimulated in the same way as by a straw: perceived differently according to the lighting and angle of view. The atmosphere created by all these elements not be overloaded, because we give importance to the elegance of purity and minimalism.



    A VIP Coktail will be taking place before the show, during the interlude and post-show. It will be a time for guests to slowly get into the theme, meet their friends, network with drinks and appreciate the full ambiance of the show.

    The models will be presented as works of art, and will wear mask made of mirrors.

    Kiosks will be available for our Title, Platinum & Gold Partners, This will be a precious time for brands to showcase their products and interact with the invitees. Photographers will be present as our audience love being taken in pictures with their fashionable clothes.

    Established 32 years ago, HEC Fashion Show is HEC Montreal's most prestigious event taking place annually with over 700 invitees and more than dozens of prominent brands showcased such as Philippe Dubuc, TOPSHOP, Masabni, Martin Dhust just to name a few. Over the years, the show has gained popularity and is now considered as a not-to-be missed event in Montreal’s student community as well as fashion enthusiasts of the city.

    This event includes a thrilling fashion show that provides entertaining and inspiring demonstrations of models showcasing today’s top fashion designs from participating designers. The show also includes choreographed dance performances to enhance the interactivity of the event.

    2017 is a big year for our committee as we will be organizing the 33rd Fashion Show. We expect to deeply scale up in order to become one of Quebec’s reference fashion events that reach out to people from outside of the student community. This is why, aligned with Montreal city’s 375th anniversary celebrations throughout the year, 2017 will be an important year in which we will look for more reach, more visibility, more attendees and an even more interactive fashion event.
