WHY HBD LA 5K?

Last year BlacklistLA ran on September 4th, and spectators didn't know why. This year everyone will know September 4th is Los Angeles’ birthday. Inspired by our runners and witnessed by our community. We commit to gathering thousands of runners for the love of Los Angeles.

Our race, HBD LA 5K, will be a celebration of our great city’s birthday, history, and bright future. We’ll bring Angelenos and their families to historic parts of L.A.

HBD LA 5K RUNNER PERKS

1. Each runner will receive a commemorative 5K t-shirt at registration pick-up.

2. Each runner will receive a commemorative 2015 medal when they cross the finish line.

3. All runners will receive chip timing in order to get accurate time results.

4. All runners will receive complimentary snacks and drinks from our sponsors after they cross the finish line.

5. Awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place will be held on stage at after the race.

6. Each runner will receive a runners commemorative goody/swag bag.

7. Each runner will receive a commemorative runner's bib.

REFUND POLICY

All HBD LA 5K entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.  You may not give or sell your registration to another individual. If you do this it could result in your disqualification as well as that of the runner who uses your race number.  The entry fee for this year’s event will NOT transfer to next year’s event, no exceptions.  This policies stays in effect whether you are injured, have an unexpected business or family emergency, pregnancy, etc.  There are NO exceptions. Any inquiry regarding this policy will be directed back to this page.  The HBD LA 5K will be held, rain or shine.

FAQs

- What is the route?

The run is starting at La Plaza de Olvera across the street from Union Station. This is where Los Angeles was founded in 1781. The route will take us through historic streets including  Cesar Chavez and Mission Rd. It will be an out and back course. However, the route is subject to change.

- What does the $44 cover?

It covers registration. You will also receive a commemorative 5K t-shirt, 2015 medal, goody bag, and race bib. Additional benefits are snacks & water after the race and accurate finish time. Streets will be closed.

- Is there any discount for registration?

No, we have set a price of $40 (+2.99 eventbrite fee) dollars and we trust our experience will exceed your expectations.

- When is the last day to register?

Mid August. Stay tuned for exact day.

- Will there be same-day registration?

We encourage everyone to sign-up now. 

- Are pets allowed at HBD LA 5K ?

For everyone’s safety, dogs will not be allowed during of 5K. Thank you for understanding.
