Harlem Wizards vs. Northgate Community Allstars,

Northgate High School, Walnut Creek, California, United States Northgate High School, Walnut Creek, California, United States

  • About the event

John F. Kennedy University’s LEAP Program (Life Enhancement through Athletic Participation) would like to invite you to sponsor the Harlem Wizards vs. Northgate Community All-Stars basketball game on April 30th at 1:00 pm. This event will be an exhilarating and lively game featuring high flying dunks and dribbling skills that will be sure to amaze, drawing in youth athletes from all over the Walnut Creek area. Our goal is to have 1,500 people in attendance! Your sponsorship will go directly towards funding the efforts of LEAP and supporting the different organizations we are partnered with.

The LEAP Program is a subsection of the sport psychology department at John F. Kennedy University in Pleasant Hill, CA. The mission of LEAP is to help youth from underserved populations succeed in sport, school, and life through mental skill building. Sport psychology department team members empower participants to reflect, recognize their potential, understand how to reach it, and to make sound, thoughtful decisions along the way. LEAP becomes a bridge to the future, using sport participation as a catalyst to help youth apply these skills both on and off the field.  Through participation in the LEAP Program, youth learn sport psychology techniques and team building in a supportive environment of positive reinforcement. Rather than focusing simply on sport, youth learn to use sport psychology to improve their life skills and develop respect for themselves and others.

    Why should you sponsor?

Our goal is 1,500 people in attendance from all over the Walnut Creek Area. This event will be a great way for a sponsor to show their dedication to the community while also having an audience of families from all over the Contra Costa County, an affluent suburb of San Fransisco. The Harlem Wizards are an established organization with a long track record of successful fundraising events and do an amazing job of promoting sponsors.

This organization, LEAP (Life Enhancement through Athletic Participation) has been around for over 25 years and has helped underserved youth around the Bay Area through sport psychology techniques. Backed by JFK University, the Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator are dedicated to helping more and more kids through positive psychology techniques. The Coordinator has many years of experience working in the non-profit realm working on fundraising and event management. This event will be a success because of the integration with the Mt.
