About the event

For 25 years, the Heroes And Legends (HAL) Awards have been bestowed upon legendary recording artists that excite discerning music fans, artists like Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, George Clinton, Johnny Rivers, Thelma Houston, the Supremes and Chaka Khan.

Founded by Motown alumna, Janie Bradford, the event was created to provide financial assistance to talented young people in urban communities shaping careers for themselves in the performing arts arena. Each year, needed scholarship funds are presented to worthy students during the awards ceremony. Not only do these laudable young people get the financial assistance they need to continue their education, but they get to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience at the star-studded event!
