Group Mission Trip! ,

About the event

  This trip will consist of a small group of seven others from my youth group. At Group Work Camp there are over four hundred teenagers just like me who attend. Here's some insight on how the camp is ran.. 

  It's a week long life changing experience. Those are the only words that even come close to how I feel. When we arrive to the camp, we will be joined by many other youth groups, and we will all be living in a high school for the week. We get split up into about 70 crews, in which each crew will receive their own resident, who's home needs repair. (Painting, deck building, roof repair, ect.) My first year, I was fortunate enough to be able to build a wheelchair ramp for someone who couldn't even get out of their house for many years. This past year, I helped rebuild stairs, stain a deck, and paint an entire house. Sounds crazy for five teenagers and one adult to do in just one week right? Let me tell you, it is possible through the grace of God. Imagine 70 different homes, in one community, being repaired. Now take a second to imagine how grateful these residents are..I cannot begin to explain to you, how great that can make a person feel. To know that you not only helped someone in need, but also brought them closer to God. Both years, I have cried when I left, because it is truly amazing, and I never want those mission trips to end. I would do it forever if I could.

   I have taken it into my own hands to look for sponsors who are willing to help us. To fund our whole trip (seven peoples' camp fare, hotel on the way, and a rental van) would be $3,700 dollars. We would love for any companies to sponsor us if you could. Every group that comes to camp has to come in their own group t-shirt, and we would be more than happy to wear your logo on our shirts.

  Must I say, this trip is not finalized, and our first payment to reserve our spot doesn't have to be turned in until October 1st, 2015. This trip will be finalized when we know that we have the money to go.

  We would like to attend the camp either in Valdosta, GA from June 26,2016-July 2,2016 or Cedar Grove, West Virginia from July 3,2016- July 9,2016.

  We will be praying that God points us in the direction he wants us to go, as well as giving us the funds to do so.
