Why not start Global Entrepreneurship Week in style by joining us for a sparkling breakfast to celebrate the launch of the new GREAT Women's Directory?

We are thrilled to announce that our event is being sponsored by NatWest and that we will be supporting the Dress It Forward Campaign.

The GREAT Women's Directory has been designed to support the 1.1 million women in the UK who run their own business and to support the 116,000 women who start up their own business every year. We are proud to be hosting our launch event in the North West as we have over 100,000 female owned businesses in the region.

The vision of the directory is to support, champion, celebrate, showcase, promote, inspire and empower women in business across the UK (starting with the North West). We would love to invite you to find out more about the directory and the work we are doing to support women in business. You will be able to find out how you and your organisation can get involved, how we can support each other through partnerships, events, collaberative working and joint ventures.

The directory features business to business services and products from Accountants to Website Designers (and everything in between) that a business would need to start up and grow. It is free to use as we believe that women who are starting out in business need all the support they can get. It includes articles, videos, resources, events, advice, support, guidance and information. It also offers exclusive offers, deals and promotions to our clients as well as a new online training programme with over 100 courses.

The morning will include:

FAQs
Is the event just for women?
No we welcome anyone who is passionate about supporting and championing women in business. Many of the businesses on our directory are owned by men and we think that men and women should work together collaboratively. 

Who is the event for?
The event is for individuals, business leaders and representatives from organisations (such as networks, associations, groups, growth hubs, chambers of commerce etc) that are interested in supporting us to champion and empower women in business and women start ups.

Why is the directory aimed at women?
Although the directory is aimed at women we have tried to make it quite neutral in terms of colour and style and in fact we are happy for anyone to use the directory. The reason we are targeting women specifically is because: 1 in every 4 businesses run by women in the UK fail every year, the UK currently ranks 26th in the world for gender equality (including issues facing women at work), the UK currently ranks 5th in the world in terms of women entrepreneur leaders and still in 2015 women face many more barriers, hurdles and obstacles in business than men for example women are more likely to be turned down for finance than men. Through the directory and more importantly through the work we want to raise awareness of these facts and promote and champion women in a different way as we feel that these statistics can be improved on through collaberative working and support.
