About the event
The Global Game Jam is the most important Game Jam, organized simultaneously in more than 480 locations across the World, 72 countries, 23.189 registered participants and 4.292 games developed in 2014. The goal of game jams is to gather video game creators, ranging from hobbyists to professionals. Place together some game designers, graphic designers, software developers and musicians, in a room for a week end, mix, and get an amazing video game cocktail! In other words, a game jam is an occasional gathering, whose goal is to create video games of all types in a week end. A game jam is not a competition, but rather a moment of sharing passion, of learning or of personal challenge, and above anything else an unforgettable moment. What is the point? Creativity, innovation, challenge and above all a unique atmosphere with passionate people!
We are currently organising the local edition of the Global Game Jam, which is the most important hackathon in the gaming community.
In 2015, it will take place the 23-25 of January in two cities: Nancy, France and Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg. We foresee to welcome about 130 participants among the two locations during 48 hours.

We propose you to sponsor also our next event, BBQ Game Jam, which will take place in August in Esch-Sur-Alzette. What is the BBQ Game Jam? The BBQ Game Jam is slightly different. It is not a global event but a regional one. It spans over a single day, teams consist of 1-4 jammers and the objective is to create games based on a given theme. The event objective is to promote video game makers communities as independent games creators on the greater region basis to share passions, know-how and venture opportunities. This event takes place every year in the summer and is as much known for its friendliness and for the quality of its menu, hence the name.
