About the event

Theta Chi Fraternity at Florida International University will be hosting its first annual philanthropy event this spring, G.I. Theta Chi, a ‘field day’ style event that engages the entire campus community.

Theta Chi was founded over 150 years ago by two military cadets at Norwich University and has a long history of supporting our troops. Since 1856, our fraternity has been guided by the principle of "Extending the Assisting Hand", and this is one way in which we exemplify that vision. We would like to honor troops serving our country and fighting for our freedom by hosting this event to benefit the USO.

G.I. Theta Chi is a great way to raise money to support our troops and their families. It is a week-long campaign of various activities that culminates with the signature event: G.I. Theta Chi. Throughout the week, each participating team competes for points and in the end the teams are awarded prizes based on the amount of points scored. The event benefits our philanthropy, the United Service Organizations (USO), and it is sure to be a fun and entertaining event, so it is the humble request of the brothers of Theta Chi that you join us in our effort to support our veterans!

Jorge Castellanos

I am the Vice-President of the Iota Omicron chapter of Theta Chi Fraternity in Florida International University. I oversee all the chairmen that put together events of our organization. We in Theta Chi hold our values and our philanthropy very close to our hearts.

A little about myself: I am a Senior persuing a Bachelors on Information Technology with a Software track and a minor in Social Media Marketing.
