About the event
It is the 10th edition of Samba Seven Futsal Niederkorn's Futsal Cup. Our goal since the beginning in organizing this tournament was to promote the maximum our sport "Futsal" in Luxemburg. It all started in 2005, however the club was founded on May 7, 1996 and we compete since then in the Belgian competitions, because Futsal was not a official and federated sport in Luxemburg.
Since July 2013, futsal as been approved and is an oficial sport in Luxemburg, and Samba Seven has a great influence on that, and is since November 30, 2013 an affiliated club of the Luxemburg Football Federation (FLF). Our club is also represented by one of our members in the recently created Futsal Commission, by the FLF, it was on January 2014.
However, one goal was reached, but we need to continue promoting our sport futsal. The first oficial competitions in futsal in Luxemburg will start in season 2014/15. And later, possible qualifying in european competitions, like UEFA Futsal Champions League and qualifying for international competitions with the creation of a Luxemburg National Team.
Therefore, we need support, and futsal in general needs support. We are grateful for any support we can obtain.
