We are hosting an exciting comedy gig, raising money and awareness for Greenpeace. This will be an evening affair, with some of the most sensational comics performing at our exclusive central London venue. We will be holding the event on Thursday 26th February 2015, at the Top Secret Comedy Club on Drury Lane in Covent Garden.
Predominately with an audience under 35, we are still targeting a wide demographic from across London to attend our unique occasion. The attendees will either be passionate about comedy entertainment, or the environment, and hopefully by the end of the evening about both.
The evening will include live music performances; interactive photo-shoots, which will be streamed on live social media; a broad selection of entertainers.
The evening will also involve a display of innovative recycled art decorating the venue whilst tying into our “green-theme” for the night. As well as this the evening will be hosted by professional comic MC’s and live music entertainment between the performances. The comedy gig will be followed on with an after party for all our attendees should they wish to continue the party.
Why Greenpeace? We want to be encouraging young adults to care and be proactive about the environment and sustainability, as well as encouraging people to make smaller, daily lifestyle changes to create a larger over all positive impact on wide issues.
We have chosen to focus on Greenpeace’s campaign against Fracking in the UK. This is a current issue, relatively overlooked since it first emerged in the news over a year ago. The consequences of Fracking are detrimental to the environment, our health and British landscape. It is a short-term solution to sourcing energy, with potentially catastrophic long-term impacts. Due to the lack of general awareness on this campaign we would like it to encourage people to think and care about the environment and sustainability, and consequently become proactive to create a greater widespread impact.
Vision Statement
Our vision is to enhance awareness for the charity and for our attendees to come away from a fun and memorable event by providing innovative comedians and exciting live performers. We will create a greater sense of compassion for the environment and an enhanced sense of pride for the British landscape and environmental future for our attendees. We will improve awareness of our cause whilst creating a positive and proactive approach on how to make changes on national and global issues.
Mission Statement
“Fracking Hilarious” is an evening comedy event aiming to gain at least 200 attendees and £600 raised for Greenpeace. Giving Greenpeace and its Anti-Fracking campaign greater exposure.
