Focus Group: The Minority Health Experience,

About the event

Minorities have historically been faulted by a healthcare system that was never designed to include them. On most health measures, minorities fare much worse than other races by %56. These differences that have largely been attributed to socioeconomic factors, poor experiences in healthcare settings and discrimination by doctors in the treatments they receive.

Therefore,we are creating  innovative Diversity and Inclusion  (D&I) framework to work alongside healthcare professionals to train them on how to address these issues.  

We are hosting a focus groups to invite minorities patients to have a roundtable discussion on their recent health experiences. During this discussion we plan to identify real problems in the narrative to optimize the design of our framework to cater to the needs of our specific target audience. 

Focusing on diversity and inclusion is absolutely necessary to provide excellence for its diverse patients. An organization must employ an innovate diversity and inclusion training to improve patient outcomes for the undeserved population.

Crystal Crawford

Crystal Crawford is the founder of Crawford Consulting Group is a social enterprise that aims to improve the health care experience among minorities. The organization aims to address the health care inequality gap for people of color, and supports innovative diversity and inclusion training programs in order to improve patient outcomes.

 

Crystal is a Life Science Professional of 11 years with a Passion, Commitment, and Purpose in the Healthcare industry. Her most recent role in the industry as  a Senior Clinical Research Associate for Cancer Research helps people find hope in a place where no hope can be found.
