FILANTHROPIA 3.0,

About the event

Filanthropia , the social fest of Techno India Salt Lake , set its wings in 2016 as the first philanthropic fest ever of its kind in Kolkata. This noble initiative has been the brainchild of the NSS club of Techno India which rightfully calls itself the “SAMARITANS”.

Over the past years Filanthropia has been a way towards creating a compassionate society. We have witnessed the footfall of noteworthy personalities who have been serving for the betterment and positivity of the society. We, the Samaritans have organised Free Eye Check-up Camps , Photography contest (with social message) and Sit n Draw competitions (for NGO children).  The day was marked by felicitation of Ms. Rupashree Roy (for her contributions towards women empowerment) , Mr. Subir Bhar (for “Disha Foundation”) , Dr. Dhires Chaudhary (for “Banchbo”) and Mrs. Sheila Ghosh for her immense contribution in serving the society. A panel discussion with panellists Ms. Anindita Mukherjee (Eastern Regional Head, “CRY”) and Mrs. Shaira Shah Halim (Writer,  Educator, Theatre personality, Corporate trainer and social activist) and moderated by Mr. Ashok Vishwanathan (educator, Theatre personality and film director) limelighted our social fest.

With the initiative of our honourable Co-Chairman Mrs. Manasi Roy Chowdhury , our honourable Director of Education Dr. Rina Paladhi and our honourable principal Dr. Chandan Kumar Bhattacharjee , we are set to emerge with the third version,  i.e “FILANTHROPIA 2K18” on 21^st March, 2018 which will etch a legacy in the minds and hearts of all. We also owe a gratitude to the Alumnni Association,  NGO partner “Ichhe Dana”, sponsors and the entire student-teacher team of Samaritans for setting a platform that is not for own selves but for the betterment of ourselves.
