About the event

The Ruby Gala is a high-end fashion show event held in support of a local charity each year. This year, proceeds raised at the event will be donated to the Zebra Child Protection Centre. The Ruby Gala will take place October 5, 2019, at the beautiful Epcor Tower in Edmonton, AB.

Why should you sponsor?

The Zebra Centre was founded in 2002 out of a need to create one safe place where children could go to disclose their experiences of abuse. As the first Child Advocacy Centre of its kind in Canada, the Zebra Centre’s model was revolutionary – bringing together a community of professionals under one roof to support the child throughout the entire disclosure, investigative, judicial and healing process.

Today, the Zebra Centre’s multidisciplinary team of Zebra staff, volunteers, police officers, social workers, crown prosecutors as well as medical and mental health professionals work towards the common goal of supporting children who have suffered abuse and creating a future where every child is heard.

This past year alone, the Zebra Centre supported 2,098 children and youth.

I work as an Investment Associate in my role I facilitate clients with investments, group retirement, and individual insurance. Dealing with both corporate and individual finances I have a fiduciary duty to my clients to uphold the highest level of ethics and trustworthiness. 

I am passionate about giving back to my community, I along with Teryn Carli a local event planner are really excited to host this event supporting an extremely important cause. Zebra Child Protection centre is a safe place where children who are victims of abuse can go and feel safe. I have been a volunteer with Zebra for the past 4 months and am so proud of the work Edmonton Police, RCMP and Alberta Health Services provide.

My volunteer experience includes:

Zebra Child Protection Centre in the role of Child Advocate

Collaborating with Doctors out of the U of A Hospital IBD Clinic for patient awareness
