About the event

Hello, my name is Nicole Sullivan and I am a 17 year old high school student. My goal is to effectively assist the Lupus Foundation of America succeed in finding a cure for this truly treacherous disease. Lupus has affected my family since I was born. My mother had shown signs of lupus in her early twenties, but at that time it wasn't a widely known illness. She wasn't properly diagnosed until she was nearly in her fourties. I watched the disease slowly attack my mother from the inside out. There is no better word to describe it than unpredictable. She fought it so courageously for so long, but eventually she got too sick. My mother passed away in September of 2016. There is not a day I don't miss her and reflecting upon the pain that this disease had caused her, it really makes me wish I could have done something to help. While my mother is no longer suffering, my older sister continues to battle lupus everyday. My purpose here is to help my family members and other people with lupus to finally break free from the shackles that this disease puts on them. Lupus awareness is extremely important and I would encourage everyone to educate themselves on the signs. Please, help me, help the truly valient people who continue to suffer from such a ruthless illness, donate today. 

I will be hosting an outdoor movie night fundraiser on August 18th, 2017. the event will take place at the Centereach Park off of Horseblock Road beginning at 8 pm. All proceeds will go to the Lupus Foundation of America.

Why should you sponsor?

The goal of this event is to be able to donate the maximum amount of funds to the Lupus Foundation of America. In order to do so, sponsors are necessary to pay for the organization of the event so that all  proceeds may go to the foundation. Lupus is a cruel disease and awareness needs to be spread. By sponsoring this event it will help both further work towards a cure and also increase public awareness.
