  • About the event

    The Faith in Film Conference is an annual event during FILM-COM. An auspicious group of film industry executives involved in the Faith-based film market and others participate in state-of-the-industry presentations and panel discussions. The conference plans to include presentations on the Faith-based film industry, works-in-progress, and networking sessions during the event.

    Why should you sponsor?

    The event supports filmmakers who become content creators of family and ethically conscious media content. Your sponsorship allows the nationwide membership of almost 5000 to collaborate creatively, and to help provide content that engenders sound Biblical or moral-rich influence. 


    Karen Espenant

    As a filmmaker, Karen Espenant leads varying Hummingbird Productions’ projects and commercials, as well as the development team of It’s a Wonderful Life the Rest of the Story. She recently produced That Love for Epic Record Artist Kendre Streeter, Moonshot for artists Steve Taylor and The Perfect Foil, and The Secret Life of Mrs. Savannah for Tonya Terry Music.  She assisted on the documentaries Cuba from the Back of a Van, I AM Israel; and Sanctuary: John Weidner and the Dutch-Paris Underground as the production translator. Credited as producer, also, on the first short film directed and written by Michele Tillman, Blue Baby Shower, this short debuts at the 2017 Cannes International Film Festival. In other roles, she also served as a 1st AD on Mrs. Savannah, 1st Ad intern/Key AD on The Secret Handshake with Town Square Pictures, as well as the production coordinator for its red carpet event. Espenant has several original screenplays in varying stages of production, too. In pre-production for 2017, Karen plans her own commercial directing debut this year with Now I See a short thriller, featuring a unique use of sound design in Dolby Atmos. Espenant recently completed  an MFA/MBA dual degree in Film and Creative Media and a Masters of Business Administration at Lipscomb University; She graduated from Tennessee State University (1997) after completion of an Honors Degree in Speech Communications and Theater (BA), with a concentration in Radio and Television Production and Convergent Technologies. Espenant minored in both Music -Vocal Performance and French. She graduated summa cum laude and as members of Phi Kappa Phi, Pi Delta Phi and Golden Key honor societies.
