The European Youth Parliament is an organisation which seeks to engage young people in the issues which do or will affect them, encouraging them to think about potential solutions and debate these within a General Assembly context.
The regional session involves 12 teams of 9 students debating resolutions, which are essentially proposals for how key EU problems may be solved, with the prospect of being selected for the national session later in the year. The students will be in UK school year 12, and therefore will be between 16 and 17 years of age. Delegates (i.e. the students who attend) are highly likely to be interested and engaged with the world around them and thus this event provides a fantastic opportunity in particular for potential sponsors who wish to attract young people with high levels of social awareness. The wide breadth of other interests that delegates may have means that this is an access point to a large number of young people, no matter what your product is.
The teams selected to attend the national session may proceed to the international session anywhere in Europe; the promise of this draws a number of young people who enjoy travelling or would like to travel to the event, many of whom later take gap years.
Furthermore, each team will be accompanied by at least one teacher and the competition will be judged by a panel of experienced EYP alumni, meaning that there will an adult audience present that will have a similar interest in the social and political world as the students around them.
All sponsors will be featured on promotional material on the day and may be given other opportunities for promotion dependent on the company's needs and sponsorship amount.
