    EMPOWER Series, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation dedicated to positively impacting the world by inspiring people to thrive. We provide financial coaching, counseling and personal development workshops and lunch-n-learns for students and adults. Local and national speakers share their inspiring personal stories of empowerment along with addressing a financial literacy topic. We believe that individuals and communities have all of the resources within reach to achieve their desired goals. Topics include but are not limited to Visioning, Goal Setting, Budgeting, Credit Management, Life Insurance, Estate Planning, Home Purchase, Entrepreneurship, and Growth Mindset.

    August Topic is Growth Mindset. I guest speaker is Wendy Ida whose topic is "How to take Control of Your Life: Mind, Body & Soul."

    Wendy Ida (pronounced ee’da) also known as “America’s #1 Expert on Living Fit, Fierce & Fabulous after 40” is a 67 year young internationally recognized Best Selling Author, Speaker, Life Reinvention Strategist, Fitness Expert & TV Host. Wendy is also an 8-time award winning National Champion of top trophy awards in the NPC Body Building and Figure Championships as well as a Strive to Thrive Fitness Expert who toured with Actors Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Ari Parker.Wendy also set two Guinness World Records as (1) Oldest Active Instructor in multiple disciplines and (2) for the most “Burpees” (a calisthenics exercise) 37 in on minute (female).Wendy’s other credits include former Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the LA Avengers football team as well as Director of the Obesity Prevention Initiative Program (OPI), sponsored by USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, Kaiser Permanente, American Bio-Clinical Laboratories and the Real Men Cook Foundation; an Award of Recognition for Outstanding Educational Community Service from Dr. Charles Adams, Founder and President and her two time nomination of Who’s Who Among Women in Business.

    Clifton Ellis Johnson is a community servant inspiring people to thrive in every area of their lives. He began the EMPOWER Series movement in 2011. Through live events and digital programs, the EMPOWER Series movement has given hope, inspiration and education to over 150,000 people. EMPOWER Series, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that facilitates financial capability and personal-development workshops, and connects people with resources to achieve their goals.

    Clifton is a seasoned professional, with over 35 years of experience in wealth management, accounting, and executive leadership in the non-profit, financial services, telecommunication and natural gas industries. He achieves success through the collaborative efforts of people and building trusting relationships.

    Clifton was a Wealth Advisor for USAA Investment Management Company, J.P. Morgan Chase and Ameriprise Financial Services. He also served as a Senior Consultant for Senn-Delaney Leadership and Vice President & Controller of Energas Company (A division of Atmos Energy Corporation).

    Clifton has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington and is enrolled at Villanova University completing a Master of Public Administration degree with a Certification in Non-Profit Management. Clifton is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.. He is a former collegiate athlete (football) and now enjoys being a spectator from the stands. In 1984, he began attending the NCAA Final-Four Basketball Tournaments every year with his family including his uncle, Dr. James Frank, the first college president and African-American who served as Secretary-Treasurer (1979-81) and later Member President (1981-83) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association.  He enjoys reading, working out, practicing yoga, traveling and sharing special moments with his family. Clifton has two children, Machele and Tyler.
