About the event

Welcome Empire’s Ball:  a first-of-its-kind event for Toronto, debuting at this year’s Toronto Pride Festival.

The event we have created is a triple-threat drag performance competition produced by myself and the talented team behind Scarlett Bobo - the drag personality known for swallowing fire, walking on stilts, and bringing incomparable entertainment to the growing drag community.  Eight local drag “houses,” (see: team, gang, gaggle, hoard) bring their fiercest dance, fashion and comedy to weekly performances while Toronto fans cheer them on.  Judges will score, teams will be eliminated, and the drama plays out live.

This inaugural event kicks off a 2 - 3 month round robin style elimination, with preliminaries, quarter finals, and semi-finals hosted at locations throughout the Church Wellesley village.  Our grand finale is slotted for one of the Pride Festival’s Main stages on its final weekend.

Our event is coming fast, premiering April 3rd, and we need your help to make it the fantastic spectacle that it deserves to be.  With multiple levels of sponsorship, we can promise a considerable amount of exposure and promotion over the course of the coming months.

This event has many exciting levels to it. 

Firstly, it is an event that is bringing our glowing and growing community together. The LGBTQ+ community is a flourishing community that brings together family, love, arts and happiness.

This competition is to showcase the arts in our community in a large scale way. We have each drag house come together with their drag family and sisters with one goal in mind, to be the Empire of Pride Toronto.

By becoming a sponsor you are helping push these new artists to new heights giving them massive opportunity they may not see for some time. 

You also get to showcase your brand in a community that is quickly growing and building on each-other.

The Empire's Ball will be at multiple venues over it's course in the next three months. Starting at Woody's and Sailor (one of the oldest running LGBTQ+ establishments in Toronto) for the preliminary rounds. We just finished our first night and the success was beyond. We had over 200 people on opening night, everyone is talking about the event and it went through with great success.

The semi finals will be at Crews and Tangos, another extremely successful business in our village. 

The final day of competition will be on the Main Stage during the Saturday of the Pride Toronto festivities on the Yonge and Dundas Stage. 

We will feature your brand on all banners, posters, signage and announcements. This event will take your brand on a very unique journey and be shown across an audience of exciting and eager viewers!

Matthew Cameron

Scarlett BoBo is one of Canada’s top female impersonators. With over 10 years of experience in the Drag community of Toronto, Scarlett has mastered the art of circus skills including: fire breathing, silks and general clownery. Known for impersonating P!nk, her favourite singer, Scarlett has warmed the hearts of audiences all over Canada with many others impersonations under her belt such as; Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Marilyn Monroe and many more. 

Her accolades include Winner of Woody’s Queen of Halloween 2015, Miss Crews&Tangos 2016, Inside Out Festival’s Queen of Queens and Werrrk.com’s Best Drag Song of the Year 2016 with her success taking her to stages in Amsterdam, LA, NYC, and more. 

Scarlett BoBo is also known for her business savvy; she is a successful party host and promoter. Events such as SWAG, #NERGASM and various weekly events throughout the city demonstrates Scarlett’s ability to excel as an artist with vision and creativity.
