Emerging artists tradeshow and exhibition,

About the event

I want to put on the first art trade show and exhibition in Tangipahoa Parish Louisiana.  It would be an open call for artists and craftsmen to present their work to the public. Prospect New Orleans 4 promises to promote and advertise the event for free if I present my event during the time of prospectus 4's event presentation.  Their event begins in the month of November 2017 and runs through February 2018. I am hoping to present my event for at least a weekend  or even longer if possible.  It will consist of a full arts and  crafts tradeshow for anyone who makes and sells original crafts,  plus an art exhibition and art contest for emerging artists. I would like to rent out booths for crafts as well as food vendors. I would include a tradeshow poster contest that will be mass produced and sold during the exhibit time. I would also try and get local businesses involved to display artwork.  For the benefit of school arts, I will be including a walk for the arts which  funding will go to the local schools. I can present a contest for students with a prize that will assist  in buying art supplies or art lessons to further the students art career.  I would like to coordinate a parade with an arts theme , and a free concert that will display the talents of local musicians, dancers,  and those involved in the theater arts. If I can acquire sufficient funding for my upfront cost I can rent the amite fairgrounds, and pay for advertising to accompany the advertising promised by Prospect New Orleans.  If successful this may even become an annual event. One that would follow Prospet New Orleans and continue to take advantage of their satellite program. 

Why should you sponsor?

My event will further the arts within Tangioahoa parish. It will be an event that benefit local artists as well as the arts in the public school system. I feel that the arts are under represented, but they are important to culture in society. When I studied art and received my masters of education it was with the hopes of bringing about change in the community with the arts. I hope to open a summer camp for the arts as well. It will be named for the event Artsaforyouza.  I plan to have a for profit camp. I will offer internships for excelling youth within the parish they will be trained as camp counselors. As an addition I want to offer scholarships or comp attendance to students who would otherwise be unable to pay to attend the arts camp.

My name is Charity C Tyson and I am a former art teacher and artists.  I am in the process of exhibiting my art. In response to a program prospect New Orleans 4's satellite program I would like to offer an opportunity for other emerging artists to exhibit their art as well. This will be  community event that will bring many opportunies as well as funding to the community for the excelling of arts.
