    Electric Valley is a 2-day camping festival centered around electronic music.  It is Utah's only camping festival and resembles Insomniac's Electric Forest.  Below is a comprehensive description of all aspects of the festival, as well as a brief overview of our company, Offbeat Events.


    COMPANY OVERVIEW

     

    Mission statement

    Our mission is to have as much fun as possible through the successful planning and execution of hybrid music festivals and carnivals while promoting and ensuring the safety of our employees, performers and customers.

     

    Purpose

     

    Offbeat Events, LLC is an event production company that specializes in hybrid music festivals and carnivals.  Our goal is to create unique events that bring people together from all social and economic backgrounds through a common love of music and while continuously emulating and encouraging the core principles of peace, love, unity and respect.  Offbeat Events will become the 2nd largest event production company in Utah by 2020.  We will stand as a bridge for aspiring artists and DJs to get from the bedroom to the green room – from the garage to the main stage in front of thousands.

     

    History

     

    Founded by Jeremy Franklin on March 16, 2015, Offbeat Events was created to give Utah, and hopefully one day the world, a new view of what music festivals can be – that they shouldn’t be limited to a specific genre and that dancing doesn’t have to be the only reason to attend.  After successfully hosting about half a dozen shows and events in 2014 in clubs and public parks, Franklin felt it was time to expand the size and reach of his events. 

     

    In 2014, Franklin took second place in a DJ competition to perform an opening set for the largest artist in the EDM scene, Steve Aoki.  When he lost to the DJ in 10th place, it raised his eyebrows enough to realize he needed to create a similar opportunity for other DJs and artists, but fair and consistent.  Thus Electric Valley was born.  After successfully planning, hosting and funding Electric Valley 2014, Franklin realized two things – not only was planning and hosting events incredibly fun, but he was also good at it.


    BACKGROUND OF PROPOSAL 

    In order to be a success and profitable, Electric Valley has many components that all must come together in a specific order, following a precise timeline.  Many of these components require funding upfront, while the main portion of time leading up to the event is dedicated to promoting and focusing on ticket sales.

    This year’s event is projected to require a $30,000 budget, half of which has already been acquired.  The purpose of this entire proposal is to provide enough information to make an informed decision to not only provide the remaining sponsorship, but also discuss the opportunity of becoming a partner.  The return on investments in the EDM scene throughout the world has been in an upward soar for over a decade.  Companies such as 7 UP, Chevrolet and Red Bull have been majorly involved in EDM for the past few years alone.


    BENEFITS OF SPONSORSHIP

    In addition to the monetary gain, primary investors are entitled to premium booth placement during the festival to promote their company and/or products as they wish.  The festival will have multiple company banners as sponsor advertisements throughout the grounds.  If desired, the sponsor will also receive two 5-minute slots per day to make announcements on the main stage to promote the sponsor’s company.


    THE FESTIVAL - Staying Up Past Our Bedtime

    LOCATION: Offbeat Events Grounds, Duchesne County, UT


    Electric Valley 2016, produced by Offbeat Events, is a two-day camping music festival held on 10 private acres, owned by Offbeat Events, in Duchesne County, UT.  The event is strictly 18+ and similar to major festivals such as Electric Daisy Carnival, Electric Forest, TomorrowWorld, Beyond Wonderland and others.  During the course of the weekend attendees will listen to live music from bands and DJs from around the globe, buy food and other concessions, participate in various attractions and activities (including carnival rides), camp overnight if desired, and leave at the conclusion of the event, sober and safe.

     

    Electric Valley will begin at 7 PM on Friday, August 26th and end at 2 AM on Saturday, August 27th. The festival started in 2014 with 250 attendees and one stage.  For 2016 we’re estimating over 1,000 attendees throughout the two days.  Profit will consist of ticket revenue, alcohol sales, raffles & prizes, carnival games & attractions, merchandise sales, concessions, ATM fees, etc.

     

    PLANNED ACTIVITIES & EVENTS

    1. Live Music - 3 stages, all sponsored by individual companies, will provide live music both days of the event
    2. Alcohol garden
    3. Camping - Free overnight camping during festival
    4. Food & Concessions - Utah Food Truck Round-Up 4-8 trucks
    5. Shade tent with tables/chairs for dining, cooling off
    6. Attractions & rides - We have business relationships with various providers and vendors to contract out carnival-style rides & games, from games and smaller attractions to swings up to a Ferris Wheel
    7. Interactive - 150-foot inflatable obstacle course, Zorb balls or bungee trampoline, Rock Wall, bungee run, slip n slide
    8. Kandi Station - Free rave bracelet tables
    9. Sound Garden - Interactive garden of various musical instruments of unusual construction (PVC xylophones, chimes, etc.)
    10. Photo Booth

    POWER, SOUND AND RELATED

    1. All sound and production will be provided, manned and delivered by Jason Young and his crew at Legacys Productions

      SAFETY & SECURITY

      1. State-approved volunteer first aid station by EMT Utah
      2. State-approved contracted security teams round the clock
      3. Free water refill stations & shade tent

      FIRE PLAN

      1. Roadways in, out and around event to permit access to emergency vehicles & fire trucks
      2. Fire extinguishers on-site: at camping area, staff tent, concessions, parking area & beer garden
      EVENT LIABILITY INSURANCE
      1. Two liability and event insurance policies will be in effect during this event.  All involved parties and Utah county will be listed as indemnified party
      2. Liability for physical injury, damage to equipment and premises property, coverage for alcohol sales and alcohol-related incidents
      3. Profit reimbursement for unexpected event cancellation
      4. Insurances, permits, licenses, etc. will all be present for duration of event
      SANITATION, WASTE & CLEANUP
      1. Honey Bucket contract - 20 units, including 2 ADA compliant unit, 24 hand sanitizing stations and 2 mobile sink units, delivered, serviced and hauled by Honey Bucket.
      2. Honey Bucket is on-call 24/7 should more units or servicing be required at any given time.
      3. Contracted solid waste removal
      4. Contracted event staff to manage post-event cleanup
      TRAFFIC, LOGISTICS & OTHER
      1. Event staff will direct and manage event traffic at entrance gate and parking to ensure no public or county lands or roads are severely affected during the event.
      2. Posted signs to direct traffic from freeways straight to event.

    This event has many elements that we need to have come together in order to see success, whether they be hired, donated or traded in partnership. The following are things we would need, and are interested in discussing options of trade, donation, barter or partnership: Portable restrooms, portable showers, inflatable obstacle courses or similar, rock climbing wall, unique musical instruments for outdoors (PVC melodic tubes, wind chimes, etc), 50kw+ generators, photo booth, chairs & tables, large event canopy/tent, crowd control barriers/fencing, construction mesh fencing/netting for barriers & boundaries, other public event-related items & services We would love to speak with you if you are able to contribute any of these items in some way.
