EECE Society Winter Ceilidh,

About the event

We have created a student society at Heriot-Watt University for our department – EECE (Electrical, Electronics and Computer Engineering) as it has been a challenge to bring students and staff together to create a community, especially after COVID within the EECE department.

Thus, we are working together with academic staff, postgraduate and undergraduate students to create tailored events and activities to bring people together, make people feel more welcome, and make a better university experience overall. We have already started a newsletter for the department and have made plans to continue this community building, as well as received some funding from the university.

Our main event for this year is the department's first annual Winter Ceilidh on the 26^th of November at the Corn Exchange. It would bring students and staff together to enjoy a nice meal and dance before the exams season.

Why should you sponsor?

We have secured sponsorships from The National Robotarium and Heriot-Watt's Anuual Fund for this event and we were looking to get a sponsorship with other institutions. As a sponsor you will have access to our growing platform and be more visibile to students looking for student internships or their first jobs after graduation.

We have offered some sponsor packages here, but we are open to your suggestions for alternative packages!

Elisa Ramil

My name is Elisa, I am the co-president and co-founder of the EECE Society at Heriot-Watt University. I am a second year PhD student. I also did my Masters at Heriot-Watt in the Electrical, Electronic, and Computer Engineering department, so have good insight in the areas in which we can improve student experience. This is the first year of the society's creation which came about due to the need for a better community, especially after COVID. We are organising our first annual Winter Ceilidh, which will be our first event of this magnitude. We look forward to hearing from you!
