About the event
Edmonds-Woodway Highschool Robotics Team is a team that year-long competes and works in a program called F.I.R.S.T(For the Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology). As we are not recognized as a STEM program, we aren't given STEM funding. As you can imagine, building robots doesn't come without a expensive price tag and we need to raise the funds necessary to being able to compete in this upcoming competition!
Starting January 9th, our kickoff day, we are given 6 weeks to build a robot that can complete a certain challenge in competitions, we aren't told this challenge until the kickoff date and our hands have to be off the robot and done building on Febuary 23rd, until our first competition. We have an average of 20-25 highschool students that dedicate their time and energy to our team, both girls and boys and from a variety of backgrounds.
