About the event
We are organizing our 2nd Annual “Night before Christmas” event. Our goal with this event is, to provide an educational and fun, holiday experience for the disadvantage youth in the Columbia area. The demographic we intend to serve are, children from shelters, youth programs, group homes and impoverished communities in Columbia, SC. This event was inspired by, a visit to the Ed Venture museum in 2014, during the holiday season. Many of the kids we serve, have not had the opportunity to experience the museum right here in their own city. It is our goal to combine:
Seasonal atmosphere at the Ed Venture Facility, Vendors who provide resources/information, on programs that can benefit the attendees beyond the event Amenities such as 40' ft. flat screen, light display and others, provided by our sponsors Story Time - Celebrity guests to read a portion of the classic book "Was the night before Christmas" Toy giveaway (While supplies last) Educational challenge sessions. Chances for kids to win prizes while they learn Santa’s Workshop (Arts and Crafts for Kids) Presented by Richland County Library
It is our hope, that by allowing these kids, to experience Ed Venture and such an event, it will open their mind to the possibilities beyond their current situation and inspire some "Hope". We have contracted with Ed Venture for the date of December 17th 2015, from 6 pm. - 9 pm. Our goal is for this to continue as a yearly event for the disadvantaged youth in Columbia.

Since Ynotu2 is a 501c3, all contributions are Tax deductable.
Continuing with last year’s Celebrity Santa theme our first Celebrity Santa will be WACH Fox’s Own Janet Parker. We will promote this event via radio, websites and social media outlets. Last year 423 kids between the ages 3-12, members of their families, volunteers and members of various organizations attended this event. We anticipate a 50% increase in number this year.
Our event recieved coverage from all three major news outlets (WIS, WLTX and WACH Fox). Outside the event coverage sposors will be promoted on all our social media outlets as well as our website.
Kimani DavisYnotu2 is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit, based in Columbia, South Carolina, who provides job and life skill development for disadvantaged jobseekers, early childhood intervention and community outreach.
