About the event

The mission of Drive Safe Kalamazoo is to ensure the safety of our community by providing, on nights of operation, free, nonjudgmental, safe rides HOME for Western Michigan University students.

Drive Safe Kalamazoo started as a class project about 10 years ago. The operation officially started on Sept. 18th 2003, and 53 rides were given on that night. Since then, DSK has given over 90,000 rides to Western Michigan students and their guests. In addition to being a state-recognized non-profit organization, Drive Safe Kalamazoo is a highly successful registered student organization. With over 300 trained members added each year, DSK is recognized as one of the largest organizations on campus. DSK is also the only Safre Ride program that is completry fress currently in West Michgan and operates soley off of volunteers so one gets paid for what they are doing. 

DSK aspires to run the most effective safe ride program in the nation. We plan to set an example for other universities within the nation through our continual commitment to improvement and encourage other schools to develop safe ride programs like DSK.

DSK operates Thursday through Saturday from 11pm- 3am! Call (269) 345-0375 to receive a free, non-judgmental, safe ride home for all WMU students and their guests!
