The National Council, the Omicron Chapter at the University of Georgia and the
Georgia State University Colony of Delta Phi Omega Sorority, Incorporated are currently
in planning for Delta Phi Omega’s 2014 National Conference to be held August 8th
2014 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Delta Phi Omega Sorority, Incorporated is a South Asian interest organization for
collegiate women focusing on service, leadership, cultural awareness, and academic
excellence. Delta Phi Omega Sorority, Inc. was established on December 6, 1998 at the
University of Houston by sixteen South Asian women who recognized the need for an
organization to promote the advancement of South Asian women. The Founders created
the backbone of this sorority on the basis of the five pillars of Sisterhood, Respect,
Loyalty, Honesty, and Friendship. They envisioned an organization that would highlight
the diverse Indian culture through participation in community and social service projects
Through determination and perseverance, this vision evolved into a reality and as
a result has become the most sought after sorority for not only South Asian women, but
woman of all backgrounds, across the United States. It is proud to be known as the nation’s
strongest, largest, and fastest growing South Asian interest sorority, currently established
at fifty schools nationwide.
While the sisters remain active in a range of philanthropic services, the
Sorority’s paramount objective is to bring awareness - continual support - to an often
overlooked cause: children’s education and literacy. Delta Phi Omega works with three
beneficiaries in regards to our philanthropy: ASHA for Education, CARE International,
and Pratham. To date, sisters of our organization have contributed thousands of hours of
service and fundraised over $100,000 for children’s education and literacy
Delta Phi Omega’s 2014 National Conference is a weekend of leadership and
professional development for members of our organization. The weekend will
consist of team building exercises, professional and career-related workshops (i.e.
resume and cover letter writing, interviewing skills, medical, law, and business seminars,
networking with other members and alumnae, problem solving activities, etc.), fitness
and nutrition seminars, self-defense classes, community service, and guest speakers. This
year’s conference will bring active and alumnae members nationwide together August
8th-10th in Atlanta, Georgia, a prime location for networking, development, and service.
We, the Sisters of Delta Phi Omega, would like to graciously request your support to
make the weekend exceptional. Although any amount will be greatly appreciated, a
minimum donation of $25.00 (or equivalent in value if non-monetary) will have their
business name and logo printed on promotional materials. Details are in the attached
donation form.
