It's all about who you know, and Cat Hustler wants you to know everyone.
Because people in cat welfare don't have the same opportunities for socialization that dog people do, these parties are critical for building the professional relationships that save lives. Bringing regional animal welfare professionals, volunteers, fosters, TNRers, and interested members of the public together, they are the only events of their kind and renowned for their results.
Each community-building party is paired with a cultural event (usually film or an exhibit). This one will begin with the "Divine Felines: Cats of Ancient Egypt" exhibit at the Freer|Sackler gallery in DC. The ticketed reception will be held at DC Reynolds nearby, where several party attendees have provided spay/neuter services to the bar's outdoor cats. Party decor and favors will be in an Egyptian-themed, creating a continuous experience between the exhibit and reception.
Ticket sales go directly to overhead like venue rental and supplies. Minor fundraising for Cat Hustler's programs will occur on-site with a raffle of donated goods and services.

Cat Hustler is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that teaches shelters and rescues how to increase cat adoptions through enhanced marketing on social media platforms.
We also host a variety of community-building events (like these networking parties) to improve the quality of life for our area's cats and the people who dedicate themselves to protecting them.
Of all the events we organize, my favorite are the "Mensch Squad" days in which volunteers from around the region rally to assist a brick-and-mortar animal care facilities with improvements, chores, or a project. Our last one involved building a pen for rescue goats at a cat sanctuary that had recently fallen victim to a fire.
Demonstrating this "I want you, not your money" approach has facilitated life-saving relationships between participating non-profits, shelters, and volunteers while earning Cat Hustler a reputation for authenticity and integrity.
Cat Hustler is a second full-time job that addresses a previously vacant niche in animal welfare, and it's a pleasure to regularly lose sleep over making it awesome.
