The Divergent Careers - Flexible Work & Small Business Expo aims to achieve the following:
* Showcase divergent work options (careers which allow you to work for yourself, or achieve greater work/life balance, rather than more mainstream or traditional corporate careers)
* Promote successful small businesses
* Educate and support people looking to leave mainstream careers
* Provide access to support services for small businesses or small business owners
* Showcase Party Plan/Social Shopping as a real way to earn a flexible income
AUDIENCE:
Our target audience will be mums looking for flexible or 'alternative' work options, however as a showcase for small business we will also be running a small marketplace and support services for people in business, so encourage a wide range of attendees.
We will be marketing this event extensively. Some avenue for our marketing efforts will include:
- Social Media
- Newsletters to our subscriber groups
- Local Media
- Extended Area Media
- Real Estate Boards
- Local Business Advertising
- Local and Surrounding Area Advertising (mailbox)
Additionally, we encourage all of our exhibitors to utilise their own social media accounts to drive the campaign forward. We will be happy to provide advice on wording and images should you wish to tap into this.
EXHIBITORS
We will have exhibitor zones throughout the expo. These zones will be:
- Small Business Marketplace
This is the place for small businesses to showcase – and sell – their products and services to the general population. We will be running a competition (pending major sponsor) to encourage attendees to get around to each stall within the expo, so everyone will have equal opportunity to reach the audience.
- Divergent Careers (including Party Plan businesses)
Party Plan and Divergent Career Ideas will be found here. Businesses specialising in flexible work for parents (WFH opportunities, flexible work recruiters, etc.) are invited to showcase in this zone, and recruitment opportunities being presented on the day is encouraged. Party Plan businesses will of course still be provided the opportunity to showcase and sell their products within this zone.
- Business Support and Services
Exhibitors in this zone will have something to offer people in small business – you could be another small business who aims to partner with local small businesses to achieve success, you could represent a larger business looking to offer special or discounted services to people in small business. Networking groups, marketing & PR firms, website developers etc. – all will be considered as long as you are able to demonstrate how you will be able to support or assistance local small business owners grow and succeed.
SPEAKERS / WORKSHOPS
In addition to Exhibiting, we have limited spaces available for business to run workshops or speaker events throughout the day.
We will have a childminding zone for parents who wish to peruse the stalls and be involved.
