District of Curves is the premier full figured fashion showcase in the Nation’s Capital! We have created an event for designers, retailers, models, and all who cater to the curvy community, to showcase their style, their talents, and their services.
OUR MISSION
Produce high-caliber full figured fashion events in the Nation’s Capital
To promote & cultivate the spirit of entrepreneurship by working with local and small businesses within the community and giving them a platform to excelIncrease brand awareness for featured retailers, designers, models, vendors, and our partners
Showcase designers & retailers who cater to the plussize community, as well as plus size models
Increase growth and awareness of the full figured fashion & business community in the Washington DC area.To empower women & men of all ages, shapes, and sizes to love & embrace their bodies.

Mickey ArmstrongMickey Leon is a native of Chesapeake VA. He relocated to the Washington DC area in 2008 and it was then that his work with the “curvy community” began. As a photographer, Mickey has worked with full figured women on numerous body positive projects. He has recently published The Curves Ahead Project, a book of photography centered around full figured women and their journey through life as full figured women. In 2014, Mickey, along with his amazing team, created District Of Curves:The Washington DC Full Figured Fashion Showcase. The annual show has become Washington DC’s largest platform for plus size models, designers, and body positive activists. He is also the creator and host of “The Curvy Podcast.” An Internet radio show that focuses on important topics and businesses within the plus size community.
Mickey enjoys his work with the “curvy community” and within the world of plus size fashion and photography and plans to continue to create opportunities in the DC area.
