Digitize is a hackathon for high school students in the Bay Area,
taking place overnight from October 13-14 from Saturday at 11am
to Sunday at 12pm. Our goal is to educate students about
computer science and programming by providing them with
workshops and mentors, so by the end of the hackathon, each
team will have a project to present in front of our judging panel.
Unlike other hackathons, Digitize is determined to promote social
good through technology and computer science. We intend to
accomplish this goal by encouraging our attendees to create
projects that address social injustices or global issues. For instance,
at Digitize we have specific categories of awards ranging from
social inequality, environmental conservation, world hunger,
poverty, mental illness, water access, etc. By sponsoring our
hackathon, companies combat these problems while supporting
students who strive to have a positive impact on these issues.
Sponsors open the doors for attendees to explore the various ways
of applying computer science to influence our communities and aid
the less fortunate.
