Devil's Dash is a 7K obstacle race that will challenge participants to have fun, while improving their personal fitness, enjoying natural scenic views, testing their endurance over several added obstacles, and supporting the growth and enhancement of Cedar Lakes Woods & Gardens for people to appreciate for generations to come. All items, including cups, awards, and t-shirts, used in the race will consist of eco-friendly materials and there will be vendors offering health food and beverages. The event is about learning to care for nature through caring about health. Cedar Lakes Woods & Gardens has numerous educational opportunities and we look forward to sharing all that the gardens have to offer with race participants and spectators.
While 23 years of dedicated labor has turned Cedar Lakes Woods & Gardens into an absolutely amazing botanical creation, the gardens have the potential to be so much more. We plan to have educational programs that will instill in youth and adults a passion for protecting and appreciating nature. For example, our summer camp program is called Solutionary Heroes Summer Camp. Each day, camp participants will learn something new about saving the world through learning about personal health and wellness, conflict resolution, leadership, animal protection, and environmental preservation. In order to continue to offer education programs, funding is necessary. Hosting a race will be expensive. We will need funding to afford advertising, designing obstacles, web design, race necessities (water, race markers, tables, tents, awards, t-shirts, portable toilets, etc.), and event insurance. Any contributions are deeply appreciated and are tax-deductible, since we are a 501(c)(3) non-profit botanical garden.

Thank you for your consideration!
Cedar Lakes Woods & Gardens is a unique 501(c)(3) non-profit botanical garden, located in Williston, Florida. Initially created with the intention of being a giant fishing pond, the botanical garden has blossomed into an artistic haven for wildlife through 23 years of dedicated labor. Twenty acres are open to be explored by the public and feature over 50 separate garden displays, several waterfalls and koi ponds, and beautiful scenic views. The 54 acres adjacent to Cedar Lakes Woods & Gardens have been designated as a wildlife reservation and are maintained by the Conservation Trust for Florida.
As the gardens continue to grow, our small staff team has been dedicated to developing new education programs for youth and adults, designing new animal enclosures for our rescued non-human friends, and deligently working to maintain and enhance the gardens. We aim for environmental sustainability and would love to see the gardens be eventually run off of alternative energy sources such as solar power.
In order to be successful with our plans for future development, we are organizing several events to increase public exposure to the gardens. Our most ambitious upcoming event is Devil's Dash, a 7K obtacle race around the gorgeous grounds of Cedar Lakes Woods & Gardens (next to Devil's Den diving center). Jenna Bardroff, our education and event director is a passionate rock climber, runner, and plant-based athlete. She has experience directing events and has ran many obstacle races. The terrain in which the gardens are based upon offers ideal obstacle racing conditions and Jenna is excited about designing an eco-friendly event to promote fitness, health, and environmental protection, while raising funds to improve the gardens and benefit our rescued animals.
